Hmm... just so you're not beneath the sod, 'pushing up the daisies', it's an attractive picture.

If I answered a bit differently on the last question (you know, three of the options were good ones for me) I got a tropical beach and a wild, bouncy, talkative personality. It was a toss-up really. I think I liked this description better because I'm not really that energetic, although the beach looked like one I'd like to veg out on.

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Good choice. While the beach looked pleasant, it also felt fairly isolated, whereas I can imagine a tidy little pub within walking distance of your meadow.

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhhhh, yes. [sighs dreamily] Now we just have to find a planet like that.

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[grins] If you can explain what a pub is to Orac, he could try.

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah. I don't trust him. He'd find a planet with a meadow full of Vila-eating flowers and a pub full of crimmos and Bayban wannabes next to it. You know him.

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You and Orac got off on the wrong foot, from the very beginning, didn't you? [grins, remembering the number of times Orac teleported Vila's feet into trouble.]

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[resentfully] Don't know why. it wasn't me who used to pull his key all the time. And he liked my jokes. I even started him off on primary-school ones to give him a gradual education, but after Malodar, forget it.

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, let's see... the first thing you said after Orac's key was inserted on the flight deck the first time was 'Try kicking it'. Not five minutes later you said, 'I don't like him. Orac, be a good junk heap- shut up.'

Have you read a great many books on 'Making Friends and Influencing Computers'? [Grins]

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
He told you that, didn't he? You wouldn't remember things I said word-for-word. You mean he's been festering about it all that time? Bloody hell! See, that's my point about revenge and grudges. There's no point in it, they only cause more of the same.

Look, I was only joking. And I tried to teach him about jokes.

D'you think it'd help if I started to get him to high-school level? That'd cover irony and friendly insults.

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
The problem with Orac is he can't forget, so it might be as well if you could convince him that he had misinterpreted. [Pause] Although the thought of what Orac could do if it understood irony is rather frightening.

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Caught either way then, aren't I?

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-25 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's true, I doubt any effort on your part would make Orac 'user-friendly'.

[identity profile] banik.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm the same thing!

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not surprised. We have a lot in common.

[identity profile] vir-cotto-tm.livejournal.com 2004-09-24 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I got that answer too.

Good for you! The galaxy needs more friendly types like us!
