After all, I could always reserve the right to space Orac if he got too uppity, Vir wouldn't get mean about handing out a drop of medicinal A&S or brivari now and then, Avon could fiddle with gadgets to his cold little heart's content, and Crais'd be a match for Servalan. Can't quite see Cally as the nurturing type or how Harvey could steer without hands though. Or real pants with a seat to fly by like Tarrant.

As for the last bit, well, [happy sigh] enough said.

I'm told it's traditional in some cultures for telepaths to be counsellors. [pause] I'm not sure my telepathy works that way, though.

It does for me. (affection)

Oh, but cap'in, my poor bairns they canna stand the strain! [Avon looks down on his red shirt in horror, and rips it off. Clears his throat.] Ahem.

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, isn't that the Captain's prerogative? [hastily] To rip his shirt I mean, not yours.

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-07 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the captain's prerogative to show his bare chest. I was wearing a black undershirt beneath, so I kept within the rules. [shudders] Red-shirts don't last very long, have you noticed? They're the equivalent of troopers.

I have noticed. And the rank 'ensign' was just another word for cannon-fodder.

[identity profile] kerr-avon.livejournal.com 2004-09-08 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
'Ensign' is also another word for flag. I assume it's because so many of them return home (if at all) in flag-draped coffins. [Pause] The engineer can wear black on your ship, can't he?

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-09 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
He can wear anything he likes as long as the ship keeps working. And nothing catches in the machinery. ;-)

I'll wear a hair-net. [grins.]

They seem rather amazingly apt, especially kerril, kerr_avon and crais. Are you sure you didn't get Avon to tweak it or something?

[identity profile] vila-restal.livejournal.com 2004-09-06 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I had to pick Kirk as my favourite when it's really Picard, and the Mumak instead of the Liberator. All the other choices had either computers or rather frightening males as my love interest. [shudder] When I got Kerril I stopped right there. I know when I'm onto a good thing. [grins]
