Thieves' Day

If you could invent a holiday, what and when would it be? What special traditions would take place on that day?

I think Thieves' Day would be fun. It would be an annual movable feast at the most miserable time of year on your planet to cheer people up, in honour of famous thieves like Robin Hood, Dick Turpin, Raffles, and [modestly] me. Now you're thinking it would be celebrated by everyone nicking things from each other, aren't you? Might be a bit chaotic and most people have no idea how to pick a lock so that wouldn't be very fair. Nah, keep it fun, that's my motto. Parents could hide those chocolate credits wrapped in gold paper around the house for kids to look for, and you could have papier-maché safes full of sweets and lollies to, well, crack open. Actually, a little plastic version of my famous red Liberator toolbox with edible lock-picks might go down well and be a nice little earner.

Yes, I rather like that idea. I think I'll suggest it to Blake when we've won.

Hmm... Intellectual Proper Tea? As you so often say, 'All proper tea is theft'. [grins]

I like it! But will most people understand it? I suppose we could add the quotation in little letters under the company name.

Better keep it a private company too. As I suppose you'll be doing the books and me the security, I'll be amazed if there's anything left for shareholders. [grins]

The quote could be a curly line of text rising as steam from a cup of tea. [grins] And I agree, no shareholders. I don't believe in leaving myself open to hostile takeovers. [smiles]
