Another interview

Another interview, this time with five questions from my friend [livejournal.com profile] londo_mollari.

Who is the most interesting person you ever met? (Not the kindest/bravest/best - the most interesting.)

Hmm. I'd have to say Avon, because just when you think you've got him pegged, he changes. When I first met him, I thought he was a cold arrogant bastard with a tarial cell for a heart. Then I saw the glint of amusement in his eyes when I made a joke, and it was odd: we became friends in a way though neither of us would admit it. We'd spend time together, just working on gadgets--Avon had the ideas and I had the delicate touch--or play each other at chess and of course insults. I'd have to say Avon usually won that, but all the fun's in the game, isn't it?

It hurt a bit that he pretended he despised me after Blake and Jenna left and we got Dayna and Tarrant on board, but I thought that was because he didn't want those new Alphas to know. That was something new; seeing that he actually cared what other people thought of him. I didn't know that sort of thing bothered him. Made him a bit more human somehow.

Then after Terminal and losing the Liberator and Blake and Cally--or so we thought at the time--he changed again, to someone cold and detached and contemptuous. He didn't give a damn for any of us. Or did his best not to.

And now we're all back together and he and Blake are bonded, he's a pussy-cat. He buys us presents, he cooks, he gardens. He still insults me though, which gladdens my little heart. After all, I wouldn't want him to change too much.

If your worst enemy - I presume that would be the Empress who appears in this community now and then - asked for your forgiveness, would you grant it?

Of course! She'd have to be sorry for what she'd done, and believe me, when you really and truly are, like I was for not being brave enough to go back for Cally on Terminal, that's punishment enough.

Out of all the ships you've lived on, which was your favourite?

Oh, an easy one! The Liberator of course! It was a flying hotel with everything we needed, and those were days of hope too. She was damned fast as well, always a consideration for someone who likes to avoid violence.

Which invention would the galaxy have been better without?

If you mean the galaxy itself, then space travel. No terraforming or pollution or blowing things up. If you mean the people in it, then I think Pylene 50 takes the prize. Anything that turns people into dull uncaring cattle is totally evil.

Who was the most beautiful woman you ever met? (We'll except the fair Kerril as love plays favourites with us all.)

You do realise that what with all the beautiful but tough women I know, you're letting me in for some nasty repercussions? They're all beautiful in their way. Jenna's like sunlight, dazzling and bright, Cally's moonlight, dark and hauntingly mysterious. Dayna's the wind, a force of nature, strong, young, and proud. Soolin's snow, cool, blonde, so lovely you want to reach out to touch her.

All right then, I'll say Servalan. She's a vicious piece of work, but even when she's tied up, she's still as beautiful as a snake. And they are, you know. All sinuous and slinky, smooth and sensual, fascinating and utterly deadly.

And now I have to add this. Though I'm not doing anyone twice, mind.

If you want:
1 - You can leave a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will repy and ask you five questions.
3 - You update your journal with my five questions and your five answers.
4 - You include this explanation.
5 - You ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

I'm sure I'm going to regret this but... You can interview me, if you want.

You know, it's almost as hard thinking up the questions as answering them!

What happened to you after Star One?

Why didn't you get in contact with us? You were looking for you.

What was your family like? You don't have to answer that if you don't want to, but I like to talk about my mum; brings her back in a way. I think it's good to remember people.

What made you become a rebel?

If we win, what will you do?

Thank you.

Of course! She'd have to be sorry for what she'd done, and believe me, when you really and truly are, like I was for not being brave enough to go back for Cally on Terminal, that's punishment enough.

You are a kinder man than I am. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mr_morden/3485.html) Though you are right; honest regret is a punishment worse than most things the universe can come up with.

If you mean the galaxy itself, then space travel. No terraforming or pollution or blowing things up.

*smiles* But then you and the lady Kerril would not have met each other, yes? And I think the universe is always the better for two lovers who can make each other happy.

You do realise that what with all the beautiful but tough women I know, you're letting me in for some nasty repercussions?

*mischievous* Ah, but what would life be without a little excitement, my friend?

All right then, I'll say Servalan. She's a vicious piece of work, but even when she's tied up, she's still as beautiful as a snake. And they are, you know. All sinuous and slinky, smooth and sensual, fascinating and utterly deadly.

*understanding* Yes, they are. My former wife Mariel would fit this description as well. You know, it occurs to me this combination of good looks and viciousness is not exclusive to women, either.

I think I'm safe on both scores! And I'm glad Mariel's an ex, you're well shot of her if she's anything like Servalan.

You know, I was knocked sideways by Kerril's looks--she scrubs up well--but I really fell for who she is.

And I'm glad Mariel is an ex

*drily* So am I. My pet name for her was "Death", you know, and she did try to kill me once, shortly before the divorce, as she'd rather have been an (inheriting) widow than a divorced wife.

Still, in all fairness it has to be said that I am not an easy person to live with, either, nor can a young beautiful woman have been thrilled about being saddled with a middle-aged diplomat whose career was going nowhere during most of the time of the marriage. (It was an arranged match on both sides.) It was best for both of us that Emperor Turhan granted me the favour of a divorce.

but I really fell for who she is
*smiles* If a woman's beauty matches her inner loveliness, the man she favours with her affection is a lucky fellow indeed.

Oh, I know it, believe me!
