A prince among thieves

If you could have dinner with anyone in all of history, who would it be, and why?

Oh, a famous thief, I think, so we'd have something in common and could give each other a few pointers. Some of 'em seem to have a mean or violent streak though. I'd want someone who was fun at dinner, wouldn't I?

I'll go for Robin Hood. Yeah, I know you said someone historical, but they say he really existed--a Saxon I think--and he's my sort of thief: only robbed people who could afford it, didn't like the government or the internal revenue, enjoyed having a good time, liked a drink or two (his men were known to be fairly constantly merry) and had a nice girlfriend who seemed to think he was a bit of all right. I think we'd get on very well.
